ULTRASEN-TANK^®

Ultrasound/MFL system for automatic inspection of storage tanks.

ULTRASEN-TAPE^® is specifically designed for the inspection of storage tanks and pipes used in refinery plants, using dual sensor technology to detect points or zones in these structures where material loss (due to corrosion or gouging) could render them unreliable during normal operation.

A set of eight ultrasonic transducers is used to measure remaining thickness of tank and pipe-line walls, which are mounted in a remote control carrier, which employs magnetic wheels to stick to the surface to inspect.

For tank floor thickness measurement, Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) is used, since this technique is inherently insensitive to surface treatments and cleanliness.

The system provide software tools including storage, management and hardcopy reports of calibration, reference plates and tanks inspected as well as connectivity to factory computer network.
